The Participant s Self Concept Personality - 1387 Words

The purpose of the research was to assess the participant’s self-concept personality (i.e., introvert or extrovert) and how they would associate with either a profile that was alike to their self-concept personality or a profile that was opposite to their self-concept personality. The three traits that were selected for the research were trustworthiness, friendliness, and likeability/physical attractiveness. Former research [â€Å"Byrne, D. (1961). Interpersonal attraction and attitude similarity. It is hypothesized that participants who are introverts would rate profiles of introverts higher than people of extroverts, and the participants who are extroverts would rate profiles of extroverts higher than people of int roverts. It is further hypothesized that participants would rate introvert females as more likable compared to extrovert males as more likable.
